This template serves as a tool for co-founders to identify both areas of alignment and potential misalignment. It provides an opportunity to transform any previously implicit agreements into explicit, crystal-clear communication. Before co-founders fully commit and embark on irreversible momentum, it is invaluable to address any issues and lay everything on the table.

I. How to Use This Template

1. Each Founder Will Fill Out Individually
   • Answer each question for what it means to you. Don’t overthink anything. There is no right or wrong way, only authentic and inauthentic.
   • This only works if both of you are honest with yourselves.
   • You may want to spend anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours contemplating the inquiries below.
2. Come together with a trusted third party to arbitrate (listen)
   • Recommendation is to share back and forth, question-by-question or section-by-section. You can either read what you wrote, or use it as a guide to present your response.
   • The third party is here to listen and track any strong alignments or misalignments. They will also provoke any thoughts that don’t feel sufficiently expressed. Otherwise they will just listen
